The <strong>\u201cNit de Sant Joan\u201d<\/strong>, as the people of Ibiza and Formentera call it, puts on a multitude of cultural and leisure activities for everyone. Each district has a comprehensive cultural programme for residents and tourists that includes concerts and food; depending on your location, you can enjoy typical bonfires on the beach and other recreational activities with a local flavour if you head inland. If you still don\u2019t have anything in mind, here\u2019s a summary of the programmes at the three beaches in the district of <strong>Ibiza<\/strong>: <strong>Talamanca<\/strong>, <strong>Ses Figueres<\/strong> and <strong>Figueretes<\/strong>. Are you ready for a magical night?<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201c<em>Foguerons<\/em>\u201d and \u201c<em>torrades<\/em>\u201d: a truly original plan<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Eve of Saint John<\/strong>, also known as the <strong>Revetlla de Sant Joan<\/strong> (23 June), is popular for its \u201c<strong><em>foguerons<\/em><\/strong>\u201d and \u201c<strong><em>torrades<\/em><\/strong>\u201d, in other words, its impromptu bonfires and barbeques on many of Ibiza\u2019s beaches. The three beaches in the district of <strong>Ibiza<\/strong>\u2014<strong>Talamanca<\/strong>, <strong>Ses Figueres<\/strong> and <strong>Figueretes<\/strong>\u2014are the most popular spots for residents and tourists. Unlike previous years, this year a sustainable and responsible festival is being encouraged: no glass or unsupervised bonfires shall be permitted on the beaches. However, aside from the organisational aspect\u2014this year the authorities and neighbourhood associations are putting holes in the sand to mark out the bonfire areas and they\u2019ll even distribute 400 kilos of fire wood\u2014Ibiza has arranged an official programme of events with concerts, food and lights.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Talamanca and Ses Figueres<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The activities at both beaches, which are close to one another and have views of the walled city, start at 20:30. In addition to a lively, family-oriented atmosphere, you\u2019ll find plenty of fire and different food stalls, like the popular sangria and fritters stand in Ses Figueres. In addition, this small beach, an extension of Talamanca, is also holding a concert by <strong>Contra Band<\/strong> at 21:30. The activities on Talamanca beach begin by sharing a typical dish, macarrons de Sant Joan (a local pasta dish), followed by a concert by <strong>Ricardito and Los Latinos<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Figueretes and the final flourish to the evening<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When it comes to the little ones, <strong>Figueretes<\/strong> beach is holding <strong>workshops, games and special children\u2019s entertainment<\/strong> from 19:00. This beach is also getting on board with the local Macarrons de Sant Joan initiative, plus it will also feature music from <strong>DJ Alex Hinohouse<\/strong>.
