They are, in fact, one of the most important attractions on the island, as they have managed to preserve their artistic roots inherited from the start of the 60s, when a good group of painters, designers and craftspeople came to Ibiza in search of its striking light, unique atmosphere and freedom of expression.<\/p>\n<p>The island has many traditional markets for you to visit, some of them are only open in summer and others are there all year round.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s the calendar for the most important ones:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Las Dalias, a hippy market since 1954<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>When: <\/strong>Every Saturday, 10AM to 8PM, April to October.\u00a0Night market: Mondays and Tuesdays, 7PM to 1AM, June to September.<br \/>\n<strong>Where:<\/strong> Sant Carles, in the north of the island.<\/p>\n<p>The second largest market in Ibiza, as you stroll through it you\u2019ll feel like you\u2019ve travelled to another period of time. It exudes the freshness, freedom and hippy dream of the 1960s. And its items ooze that vibe. The sale of handmade products, fashion items and accessories by local designers is one of its highlights.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s also a meeting point for people who want to enjoy music and food from different parts of the world. It has a restaurant, several bars, a fresh juice stand and gazebo where you can enjoy tea and sweet treats. In the afternoon, visitors gather at the Soul Bar to listen to a DJ session until the market closes.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Sant Jordi<\/strong><strong>, the second-hand goods market<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>When:<\/strong> Every Saturday, 9AM to 3PM.<br \/>\n<strong>Where:<\/strong> In Sant Jordi, in the south of the island.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s a favourite among residents with a truly local and cosmopolitan hippy vibe. Countless stands pitched under the pine trees sell all manner of items from all four corners of the globe, many of which are handmade. A vibrant atmosphere where you\u2019ll come across several bars and restaurants with live drums and music as entertainment.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Sant Joan market<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>When:<\/strong> Every Sunday. 10AM to 4PM.<br \/>\n<strong>Where:<\/strong> Sant Joan Labritja<\/p>\n<p>Even though it\u2019s fairly new, this hippy market has gained significant interest because of its charming setting, since it\u2019s completely incorporated into the streets of the beautiful village of Sant Joan. You\u2019ll find small works of art sold by their authors, all kinds of handmade objects, photographs and typical Ibizan produce at this market.<\/p>\n<p>The music kicks off at 12:30PM and many of its stands sell food.
